RACHEL STOPPER
Rachel is a Principal Dancer with the Scranton Civic Ballet Company. Miss Stopper joined the company as an apprentice in 2019. She quickly rose through the ranks, gaining her first principal role only a few months after joining the company, performing as Clara in Helen Gaus' The Nutcracker. Miss Stopper's repertory includes Swanhilda in Coppélia, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Dew Drop Fairy and Coffee in Helen Gaus' The Nutcracker, Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty Act III Wedding Pas de Deux, as well as originating the roles of Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and the Blue Fairy in Pinocchio.
Miss Stopper has competed in the world renowned Youth America Grand Prix for two years, placing in the top 24 of the senior classical category with her performance of The Talisman. She has studied with the School of Pennsylvania Ballet for two years and has been accepted into numerous summer programs such as American Ballet Theatre, Milwaukee Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, BalletMet, Sacramento Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Joffrey Academy of Dance, and the Joffrey Ballet School.
